Coming back…..

Waww, terakhir gua liat gua posting tanggal 20 Februari, sekarang gua mulai posting lagi bulan Juni, berarti sudah sekitar 4 Bulan gw gak posting di blog, wewww lama kali.

Hmm sebenernya apa sih yang mulai membuat gua buat ngeposting lagi, hmm sebenernya banyak unek2 yang pengen gw omongin cuma gak tau mesti lewat apa. Mulai dari kegiatan kuliah semester ini yang lumayan sibuk dengan tugas2nya yang kadang harus sering2 bergadang.

Selain itu sih gw mulai kepikiran buat ngeposting lagi gara2 semalem gua baru nonton film Kambing Jantan, hehe. Tau lah cerita yang diangkat dari kumpulan tulisan2 di blog yang akhirnya di filmkan. Bener2 kocak tuh film, salah satu film Indo yang gw rekomendasikan buat ditonton (karena sejatinya gua rada2 males nonton film indo, hehe). Si punya cerita juga masih aktif kok dengan blognya yang berada di alamat ini.

Sebenernya sekarang gua lagi UAS, padahal temen2gw di UGM sekarang sedang asik2nya menikmati minggu tenang mereka, tapi karena pas tanggal 17-24 Juni yang bertepatan dengan jadwal UAS UGM,ternyata gua ada acara lain, Alhamdulillah dengan segala usaha keras (cieee gak juga sih sebenernya) akhirnya gua terpilih sebagai delegasi UGM untuk mengikuti acara The 11th ASEAN University Network (AUN) Educational Forum and Young Speaker Contest, temen gua bilang gua adalah orang yang beruntung tapi tidak cukup beruntung, ya gua beruntung untuk mewakili UGM di acara bergengsi tersebut namun disisi lain gw gak cukup beruntung karena buat tahun ini acaranya bakal diadakan di Indonesia, di Universitas Indonesia lebih tepatnya, padahal tahun2 kemarin acaranya diadakan di Brunei, Singapur, Laos, Thailand dan negara2 ASEAN lainnya, tapi gapapa deh , sudah diterima saja rasanya senang banget. Nah tema buat tahun ini akan mengangkat tema “Global Economic Crisis : Challenges and Opportunities For ASEAN”, yah intinya adalah bagaimana ASEAN dapat memaksimalkan perannya dalam kancah Internasional dalam mengurangi dampak yang mungkin terjadi akibat global ekonomi krisis. Yah diacara ini gua diminta untuk mempresentasika paper gw tentang tema tersebut dihadapan para kontestan dari negara lain beserta para petinggi ASEAN, hmmm cukup grogi tapi gampanglah masalah grogi bisa diatasi.

Selanjutnya gua juga harus mem-force diri gue buat belajar lebih keras buat UAS kali ini, ya karena selain gua ujian sendirian dan dihadapan dosen langsung, jadwalnya juga cukup padat, pokoknya jadwalnya gak asik banget deh, yah tapi itu emang resiko yang mesti gua ambil.

Apa lagi ya? hmmm, mungkin itu dulu kali ya, lain kali gua akan mencoba untuk memposting apa yang gua alami, kejadian yang menari untuk gua posting, dll.

The sixth semester has begun..

Yups kuliah mulai lagi, saat ini gua dah masuk semester 6 (Actually I though that the time has run so fast). Yah gua harus masang strategi untuk mempertahankan nilai yang udah gua capai pas semester kemarin (Alhamdulillah, Finally I succeeded in getting the perfect GPA (4.00) in my 5th semester ).

Setidaknya ada beberapa matakuliah yang rada2 harus diperdalam menurut gua yaitu Sistem Informasi Terdistribusi , Manajemen Proyek dan Bioinformatika . Selain tugas di ketiga matkul tersebut -kata yang udah pernah ngambil- sangat banyak , juga penilaian cukup ketat. Gak aneh banyak juga yang dapet nilai C bahkan D di matkul tsb.

Besides those, karena semester7 I will take my final assignment so I have to think about the topic that I wanna take. Yah gua gak mau aja dikejar2 dosen gara2 proposal TA (Tugas Akhir) belum kelar2, dan pastinya gak mau dikejar orang karena ada utang, hehehe…

Kayaknya gua harus nambah jam belajar gua deh di semester ini, alasannya ya karena matkul2 diatas itu, dan alasan utamanya sih supaya bisa mempertahankan apa yang udah gua dapet, ternyata emang bener , Merebut memang lebih mudah ketimbang mempertahankan.

Tips menghilangkan stress bagi mahasiswa

Terkait dengan postingan saya yang membahas Tips untuk Meningkatkan IPK, kali ini saya akan mencoba untuk membahasa Tips untuk mengatasi Stress pada masa perkuliahan. Sekali lagi saya katakan, IMHO, saya bukan ahli dalam masalah ini, tapi mencoba sharing dengan teman2 lain , dan berfikir dalam sudut pandang mahasiswa biasa seperti saya.

Yah permasalahan stress ketika kuliah memang bisa dibilang permasalahan klasik, ketika Nilai-nilai kita jatuh, ketika sulit untuk mengikuti materi kuliah, ketika sibuknya mengatur waktu (bagi yang aktivis), tuntutan dari Orangtua (Alhamdulillah saya punya ortu yang tidak memaksakan kehendak mereka pada anak-anaknya, Thanks Mom and Dad, Love u so much), dll.

Tidak sedikit mahasiswa yang mengatasi masalah ini dengan cara2 yang justru malah merusak mereka. Narkoba lah., Dugem lah (Gua anti dugem bro), atau apalah yang bisa menjerumuskan kita dan tubuh kita, dll.

Nah berikut ini tips-tips yang mungkin sedikit banyak bisa meringankan gejala stress yang mungkin “diderita” teman-teman.

1. Cobalah untuk Terbuka dengan pergaulan yang positif, dalam artian ke dalam pergaulan yang bisa mengarahkan kita ke arah lebih baik. Yah ibaratnya dengan perumpaan tukang parfum dan tukan pandai besi deh (gak usah diceritain panjang lebar kan?).

2. Cobalah untuk sharing dengan sahabat/teman yang kamu percaya, sikap introvert (tertutup) terkadang gak bagus untuk masalah ini.

3. Pergilah ke sejenak ke tempat-tempat yang bisa merilekskan fikiran, entah ke mall, nonton bioskop, ke toko buku, atau sejenak berwisata (ingat ya sejenak, jangan lama2 looh).

4. Pola makannya yang teratur ya (hehe padahal saya sendiri, pola makannya gak teratur, ya sedang mencoba laaahhh )

5. Konsultasilah dengan dosen pembimbing, mintalah saran dan nasehat beliau. Sebagai seorang pembimbing mahasiswa, pasti beliau pernah menangani “kasus klasik” seperti stress pada saat kuliah. Saya yakin sesibuk apapun seorang dosen pembimbing, pasti mereka akan memberikan waktunya untuk mahasiswanya.

6. Jangan malu untuk mengajak belajar bareng, suasana inilah yang saat2 ini jarang terlihat di lingkungan mahasiswa. Untungnya anak2 di kelas saya anaknya kompak (Love you Ilkom A UGM 2006), sekali belajar bareng bener2 masuk ilmunya. Ada matakuliah yang sangat sulit saya pahami, tapi berkat belajar bareng , Alhamdullah saya dapet A di nilai akhirnya. Dengan belajar bareng maka kekurangan kita akan ditutupi oleh kawan2 kita, dan kelebihan kita dapat kita sebarkan ke kawan2 kita.

7. Mintalah doa orang tua (jika masih ada), doakan agar diberi ketenangan olehNya dalam menjalani perkuliahan. Dan jaga hubungan baik dengan orangtua kita, kalo ortu dah ridho ma kita, pasti hati kita akan tenang, Percaya deh.

8. Tentu saja jangan lupa berdoa kepada Allah SWT, karena Dia lah Zat Yang Maha Agung, yang memberikan cobaan bagi setiap umat manusia , dan mintalah agar diberikan ketegaran hati.Yakinlah bahwa Tuhan tidak akan memberikan cobaan melebihi apa yang hambaNya sanggupi.

Yups menurut saya segitu dulu, tapi bagi teman2 yang mau menambahkan, silahkan….

A Strange Emails from a strange girl

I just wanna share my experience about getting an email that i thought it was really strange. I got it from a girl from Ivory Coast, One of country in West Africa.

She gave me her picture like this :

Here is her email and my reply email as well.

How are you and how is your work hope all is moving fine.i seek for
honest partner and i meet you at blog.openx and it was interesting
and attractive then i drop by to know who this was, i will like to
know more about you. if you wouldn't mind you can reply my mail.

i will be very glad to read your mail with all pleasure. it will be
nice to meet you and also read from you. please do honor my invitation
so that we can exchange our pictures and maybe become partner.

Remember the distance does not matter what matters is the love we
share with each other.

And afterwards I replied :

Oooooh when i read such email, i was really sympathy with her.
But don't you know When i tried to know more about her father
-Dr Dion Goodluck – usng Google,I found that she - the girl -

is a scammer. He tried to scam me with her email, and possibly
she hoped that I would giving my mercy.

And afterwards i reply this email to her :

If my guess is right, I just wanna tell you, that you don't have to
do Those to everybody. If u wanna get some money, you can work to any
companyyou want, but of course you must study hard or strive, and it's
the absolute way for getting it, at least according to me.

Hmm I got some facts about some cities or towns in USA and if we compare it to another country.

Compared with UK

- UK has Boston, USA has Boston
- UK has Washington, USA has Washington
- UK has York; USA has New York

Good job the UK didn’t put copyright on the names of its towns & cities!

And I think everytime you name a town or city to an american, you have to add the country. E.g You’re from London, England. Otherwise they will say “is that London in Texas? Or London in downtown Chicago?”

Compared with Italy

- Italy has Syracuse, USA has Syracuse
- Italy has Florence, USA has Florence
- Italy has Rome, USA has Rome
- Italy has Naples, USA has Naples

I’m going to take an interview…

Tomorrow, I’m going to go to Language Center Sanata Darma University for taking an interview. The interview is the final selection for being grantee of The IELSP Scholarship.

It’s full scholarship which giving opportunity to Indonesian students especially in Bachelor Degree (S1) from any field to study English Language intensively in American University for 8 Weeks.

Ya, you know, the best practice to improve our English ability is by practicing directly, by speaking English actively. I have to prepare for getting it. I can’t throw my time in vain. I’ve striven for getting this scholarship, and I’ve done all-out for everything that i wanna do.

English day…

Oooh, exactly I got 2 moments that force me to speak in English. The first moment, when I and some of my friends were gathered in V-Art Gallery at Yogyakarta together with 3 speakers from an Opera International Crew (Mr. Bruce Lawson, Mr. Zi Bin Cheah, and Miss Annisa (The Only One Indonesian People work at Opera Office, in Oslo, Norway) ). We Discussed about everything, started from Opera itself, and afterwards it was growing to another topics like MetaSploit, Culture, Education, and languages.

And the second, when I followed an LSIS Program (One of student organizations in my college) which is Hunting Tourist in Prambanan Temple. Haha I though i would be guide at that time, but i was wrong. Actually we asked to speak with Some foreign Tourists who visitting Prambanan Temple. I got 4 foreign tourists there, and they were originally come from England and USA. Honestly i got little bit confused when i was take an interview with tourist from England, it was caused by their accent was difficult to be understood, i got missed some words when i took an interview with them. Their accent is really different from an American Accent. But overall i was still can handle it, and one thing that I’ll always remember about their words is they said that my English was excellent, hahaha actually I was happy to hear that

Yah, exactly I have passion to be an expert in English, even i’m not student from an English Department. Yaa, sometime, people around me said that my behaviour was like crazy people, cause I always speak in English by myself, but i don’t care at all about that. I wanna emphasize that I’ll never care about what people say about me, if what they say just make me down. And I hope you do the same thing like i do. And someone who wanna get success in their life have to realize that they will come accross the problems that will make them down. They must all out with everything what they wanna do.

Who will I be, It’s up to me. And I’m exactly where i am supposed to be.

Building your mood in reading book.

Hi my friends in all over the world , several minutes ago one of my best friend in Makasar, asked me to give some tips about how to build in reading mood.

Well maybe it is looked like so usual, yah you know , cause I’m not the right and the best person for giving some tips in reading book.

Ok, firstly, of course you gotta madly in love with the book u wanna read, then you must interested with the topic that the the book tells about. Hmm what else?, o ya u need to know if u have accomplished one book, you have increased your knowledge in certain cases than anothers, and it will make u more confident.

Hmm so brief, but I guess it will be useful for u, and  of course for me as well.

Remember, by reading at least one book, you have opened one gate to succeed.

Tips Meningkatkan IPK/GPA…

Oke, tips berikut emang keliatan biasa aja tapi gw dah membuktikannya sendiri berdasarkan pengalaman pahit gw di semester 2 , hiks2… semester ini IP gw dibawah 3 ,yah walaupun temen2 gw di semester ini juga pada banyak yang jatuh, gak tau lah penyebabnya, tapi kita gak boleh menyalahkan keaadaan. Bagaimanapun yang salah adalah kita, bukan dosen kita, teman-teman kita ataupun orang lain di sekitar kita.

Setelah gw praktikin, gw bisa meningkatkan IPK gw cukup drastisss.

1. Rajin masuk kuliah, yah memang ini kelihatan sepele,cuma percaya deh kalo lo masuk kuliah yang rajin lo gak bakal nyesel. Waktu semester 2 gw terkenal sebagai anak yang jarang banget masuk, yah walaupun gw tetap belajar juga di kos, otodidak lah istilahnya. Tapi belajar di rumah sendiri gak cukup, kita butuh suasana akademis yang kondusif yang memacu otak kita untuk terus bekerja dengan baik (Nyambung gak ya? tapi intinya begitulah).

2. Bina hubungan baik dengan dosen. Membina hubungan baik disini bukan berarti menjadi penjilat, karena dosen kita tuh bukan es krim yang bisa dijilat, haha jayuzzz banget. Maksudnya jaga image kamu di depan dosen, kalo ketemu dosen jangan cuek bebek aja, yah minimal bilang permisi lah, kalo perlu cium tangannya sekalian (tapi cium tanda hormat loh ya). Terutama ketika pertama kali kuliah dan ketemu dosen yang baru. Pokoknya ciptakan kesan pertama yang begitu berarti buat beliau.

3. Baca buku-buku pengembangan diri dan pembuka wawasan semisal 7 habbit dan The 8th Habit-nya Steven R. Covey, Change-nya Renald Kasali, Blue Ocean Strategy-nya W Chan Kim , The world is Flat-nya Thomas L.Friedman .

4. Nonton film yang bikin semangat belajar, seperti October Sky, Good will hunting, Legally Blonde, Love story in Harvard (kalo yang ini hjangan terlalu dilihat kisah cintanya, tapi dilihat gimana cara belajarnya), 21, dll. Pas UTS kemarin gw nonton film “Love story in Harvard”, cerita ini bener2 bikin semangat gw tumbuh pesat, Universitas top dunia semisal Harvard, Yale, Oxford, Cambridge, Stanfird, Berkeley, gw jadiin wallpapaer di kompi gue. Tujuannya ya satu, bikin gue terpacu terus untuk terus belajar.

5. Cintailah hoby membaca buku, dengan membaca banyak buku membuka wawasan kita.

6. Seusaha mungkin cintai matakuliah yang kamu ambil, walaupun kamu gak ada niatan sama sekali. Memang itu sulit, tapi mungkin untuk dilakukan kan?

7. Kalau masih punya orang tua, minta doa dan restulah dari mereka. Ridho Allah itu ridho orang tua juga loh.

8. Pikirkan masa depanmu kalau seandainya kamu bermalas-malasan dihari ini. Di era globalisasi kita tidak hanya bersaing dengan bangsa sendiri, tapi juga bangasa2 di seluruh penjuru dunia.

9. Bayangkan perjuangan orang tua yang telah bekerja keras untuk pendidikan kita, dan bayangkan pula gak banyak orang yang beruntung seperti kamu yang bisa mengenyam pendidikan hingga perguruan tinggi. Jadi jangan sia-sia kan kesempatan yang ada.

10. Jauhi NARKOBA. Gak ada kata toleransi untuk yang satu ini, SAY NO TO NARKOBA.

11. Ketika mau ujian jangan pernah terbersit untuk menyontek, karena itu akan membuat kita ketergantungan sama orang lain. Dan juga mencontek pas ujian itu candu, sekali mencontek pasti bawaannya pengen nyontek terus. Pede dong ama kemampuan diri sendiri. Gue pernah pas kemarin2 nyontek,dan hasilnya justru membuat ketergantungan ama orang lain. Kapokkk deh nyontek. Dan satu lagi kalo kamu mau nyontek dan orang yang kamu contekin gak mau kasih jawaban, jangan marah doong, itukan untuk kebaikan kita juga.
